			Movement Direction Over the past few years Karla has been mainly working as a Movement Director and Choreographer for other companies and productions - this has allowed her to be on tour less and spend time with her young family. Karla will undoubtedly be back in the studio making her own work in the not too distant future, but for now is happy to collaborate with others. Latest collaboration: Karla is currently working with Documental Theatre on Mary and the Matrons, a brand new musical written by Lucy Bell, Directed by Sarah Meadows, with music by Ben Glass. 			Photography Collaborations Over the past decade Karla has worked with some incredible photographers, such as Irven Lewis, Christopher Lewis-Smith and Farrows Creative. You can see a snapshot of these photos on the media page. Latest Photography Project: In 2021 Karla worked with the amazing photographer Viola De on her inspirational Wild Woman project. Thanks to Covid the shoot took place remotely - Viola was in Sweden and Karla was in Bristol! Viola has produced a whole series of Wild Woman images, in collaboration with a number of different performance artists. Karla worked with Viola again ealier this year, on an extension of the Wild Woman Project, but this time capturing the body in movement whilst pregnant (whilst Karla was growing baby number 3!). 			ZOOM PERFORMANCE: In 2021 Karla took part in her first ever creation and performance project on zoom. Karla was selected to be part of Hands Full Ensemble's new work 'Meditations on Motherhood'. You can check out the experiment in performance and paper here: https://motherswhomake.org/handsfull R&D: Just before Lockdown Karla was invited to work with National Theatre Wales as a performer in the R&D for Hail Cremation, directed by Adele Thomas. LECTURING/WORKSHOPS: Karla will be doing a spot of guest lecturing again this year, at Laban, Bath Spa University, Bristol University and Central School of Speech and Drama. BONNIE BIRD AWARD: Karla is thrilled to have been awarded the Marion North Mentoring Award - one of the prestigious Bonnie Bird Awards, which she received at a ceremony at Sadlers Wells.
